“I don’t think jogging is healthy, especially morning jogging. If morning joggers knew how tempting they looked to morning motorists, they would stay home and do sit-ups.” - Rita Rudner.
This is my new excuse for not running in the morning. Yeah and sitting on my computer nursing my coffee has nothing to do with it.

“Running is the greatest metaphor for life, because you get out of it what you put into it.” -Oprah Winfrey
Oprah is right again! Nothing comes easy, and that is especially true with running. You can’t achieve your personal best without putting in a lot of hard work and dedication! But be assured, if you do put in the time, you will reach your goal! Give it your all!

Anything worth while will not come easy. -Unknown
This is a lesson I try to teach my children daily. It’s been said many different ways…”Practice make perfect.” “No pain, no gain.” But the gist is, if you want to be good at something, you have to work at it and perfect your skills. Put in the long hours of practice so you can really appreciate the success. This is a life lesson we can carry with us and refer to often. Now GET MOVING!!!

This is where you will win the battle — in the playhouse of your mind. –Maxwell Maltz
What does this mean to you? Mind over matter, right? When you start dragging and feeling like you can’t possibly take one more step, focus on your thoughts and tell yourself you can! I enlisted this yesterday in the last mile of my run. I wanted to stop. Really wanted to stop! My legs were heavy and my form was faltering. My body was talking my mind into surrendering. But after remembering how great it feels to actually finish a long run, my mind took over and I finished. And I actually beat my pace! Amazing!
